Hydraulic Tail Trailers

A hydraulic tail trailer is a heavy-haul trailer with a rigid gooseneck that features a hydraulically powered folding tail on the rear, which folds down to make a loading ramp. The folding tail is comprised of two sections—an 8-foot 8-inch platform and a 60-inch flip tail that folds under the platform when not in use. This design is ideal for dock loading as well as hauling inoperable and otherwise hard-to-load equipment such as manlifts, rollers, forklifts and paving equipment.

User-friendly Hydraulic Folding Tail

The load-bearing folding tail has a lifting capacity of 25,000 pounds for loads centered on the platform. XL’s hydraulic folding tail design is a hinge system with four lug-style hinge points between the platform and fold-under section. This robust design features an elevated hinge to protect from ground-bearing stresses during loading and keeps the area free from debris.

Self-Cleaning Traction Plate Decking

On both the tail and the pop-up ramp that goes from the main deck to the upper deck, XL Power Tails feature self-cleaning traction plate decking. XL uses a unique structural punch plate design using only one piece of steel. No additional plate is required, therefore no dirt and debris will accumulate.
