A market-leading manufacturer of custom-engineered heavy haul trailers, XL Specialized Trailers showcases four versatile specialized trailers at the 2013 Mid-America Trucking Show in booth #16212. The variety of units showcases XL’s superior offerings to the commercial, construction, and specialized markets.
XL Specialized Trailers’ XL 110 Low-Profile Hydraulic Detachable Gooseneck, the go-to construction equipment hauler, makes its trade show debut at MATS with its exciting new standard features. This trailer now features 5 5-position variable ride height on the 13’ long low-profile gooseneck, front ramp upper flange reinforcement for extra support where it is needed most, a third axle airlift, and a more versatile main deck. The 26-foot main deck includes 13 chain slots per side, 7 bent D-rings per side, and heavy-duty removable swingout outriggers. The XL 110 Low-Profile HDG still includes all the customer favorites it is famous for; 110,000 lb. overall capacity, and 100,000 lb. in 10’ concentrated, the bucket well in the rear bridge, the recessed last three cross members in the subframe for loading an excavator arm without damaging the cylinder, Apitong decking, and frame reinforcement for a booster.
XL also introduces new standard features on the XL 70 Mechanical Full-width Gooseneck, XL’s most popular mechanical trailer. The XL 35-Ton MFG (70,000 lb. overall capacity) now comes standard with manual ride height and double donuts for varying deck heights, and a fully equipped main deck with 14 chain drops per side, 8 bent D-rings per side, and removable swingout outrigger brackets on 24” centers (for use with swingout outriggers for over width loads). Other new customer-friendly features include an angled control panel for easier access to the air, electric, and raise/lower valves, and the lockable toolbox in the gooseneck with an aluminum cover, chain rack, and a light for finding items at night with ease. The XL 70 MFG still includes all the favorite features that have made it one of the most used mechanical trailers on the market. The XL 70 MFG boasts a 10’ long full-width detachable gooseneck, 29’ long main deck, and 9’ long main deck; all 102” wide.
XL’s full line of extendable trailers is represented with both a fixed neck trailer (the XL 90 SDE) and a hydraulic neck trailer (the XL 90 HDE). XL’s patented Extend-A-Trac is the exclusive feature of XL extendables, as it allows for extending and retracting the trailer’s deck extension without hooking and unhooking electrical lines, using 6” greaseable rollers which incorporate oil-impregnated bronze bushings for easy extending. The air-operated lock pin features five standard stops; 2’, 3’. 5’, 5’, 5’.
The XL 90 Step Deck Extendable is trusted with the longest, most challenging loads, rated with a 90,000 lb. overall capacity and 70,000 lb. in 10’ concentrated closed. The main deck boasts rub rails, double pip spools, drop-down D-rings that lay recessed in the deck when not in use, and sliding winches for superior tie-down options.
The XL 90 Hydraulic Detachable Extendable offers a 90,000 lb. overall capacity and 70,000 lb. in 10 concentrated closed. This trailer showcases some of XL’s specialized features such as upper flange reinforcement across the main deck, a 60” rear mini-deck, detachable wheel area, brackets on the upper deck for the spreader bar of the booster, and a 4+5+4 tail light package. The Extend-a-Trac has stops every 2’ for enhanced length flexibility.
