A market-leading manufacturer of custom-engineered heavy haul trailers, XL Specialized Trailers will showcase the XL 110 Low-Profile Hydraulic Detachable Gooseneck (HDG) trailer, XL130 HDG Multi-Axle trailer and will unveil the brand new XL Bottom Dump trailer at the CONEXPO/CON-AGG show, March 4-8 in booth No. 2744 of the Gold Lot at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
XL Bottom Dump Trailer
Ideal for the aggregates industry to haul and dump gravel and other composite material, the XL Bottom Dump trailer has a length of 40 feet with a side height of 9 feet and 2 inches with 10-foot boards. Weighing in at a lightweight of 12,750 pounds that includes a tarp and push-block, the XL Bottom Dump trailer’s capacity is 25 cubic yards.
The upper hopper is 53 inches high with a 96-inch by 193-inch opening, the largest in the industry. The upper hopper is made of 10-gauge steel and is prep for flip and go tarp system. The single lower hopper is 59 inches by 118 inches and is made of ASTM A-572 steel. Both have reinforced side walls for added strength and stability. To maneuver over large piles, an oscillating fifth wheel pivots as needed with an 18-inch kingpin setting.
The XL Bottom Dump trailer will be unveiled at CONEXPO-CON/AGG for the first time and be available in the late fall of 2014.
XL 110 Low-Profile HDG Trailer
The XL 110 Low-Profile HDG trailer packs durability, efficiency, and versatility into one trailer and is built to hold up to years of loading and unloading with 80K web and T1 flange steel as well as Apitong decking—a wood stronger than oak. Featuring an overall length of 53 feet with an overall width of 102 inches, the XL 110 is rated at 110,000 pounds capacity overall and 100,000 pounds in 10 feet concentrated.
Ideal for hauling heavy construction equipment, the main deck is a full 26 feet long and features 13 chain slots and seven bent D-rings per side, as well as heavy-duty, removable swing outriggers for hauling extra-wide loads. The rear bridge is 14 feet long with a 40-inch loaded deck height. The XL 110 Low-Profile features three 25,000-pound minimal axles on the rear bridge, spaced 54.5 inches apart (XL also offers 60-inch axle spacing).
To haul equipment on the rear bridge, the XL 110 is equipped with bolster chain slots and comes with the option of bolt-on load-bearing wheel covers for hauling loads on top of the cover or semi-load-bearing wheel covers to drive equipment onto the bolsters. The bolt-on feature allows users to remove and attach them as needed. The trailer also includes a bucket well in the rear bridge that can load an excavator arm without damaging the cylinder.
XL 130 HDG Trailer
The XL 130 HDG trailer is flexible and versatile with a rated capacity of 130,000 pounds in 10-feet concentrated – perfect for hauling larger equipment over tough and rugged terrain. The XL classic-style hydraulic gooseneck is 12 feet, 5 inches, and includes a 49-inch fifth wheel height with seven ride-height positions. The two-axle jeep—designed for better load distribution and higher versatility—also includes a 72-inch flip neck.
The main deck is 9 feet wide and 26 feet long with a ground clearance of 8 inches. The width of the main deck can be extended to 11 feet with 12-inch heavy-duty removable swing out outriggers to haul wider loads. The main deck is also outfitted with five bent D-rings and four pan-style D-rings per side and 31-inch front flip ramps for numerous sturdy tie-down options. An open boom trough goes into a 5-foot bucket well with a steel-plated bottom on the main deck for added durability and allows the boom to be knuckled under without hitting or scratching the cylinder.
The rear deck is 14 feet, 2 inches long with a loaded deck height of 43 inches. The trailer has an airlift on the third axle to reduce wear and frame reinforcement for the two-axle booster. The rear deck also possesses bolt-on, raised heavy-duty load-bearing wheel covers for parking equipment on.
Similar to the XL 110 Low-Profile HDG trailer, the XL 130 is also made from reinforced 80K web and T1 flange steel and Apitong decking.
